i took my dad in for eye surgery this morning. he had cataracts, so in order to correct this problem the doctor gave him a new intraocular lens. the lens will allow him to see perfectly without the use of glasses/contacts ever again! i was surprised to see that the surgery only took 25 minutes. now he will have perfect vision when he gets his bandages removed tmrw. but until then he looks like a pirate.

the following video is what the procedure looks like. according to my dad it was completely painless without the use of any local anesthetic. (they only gave him an anesthetic after the procedure.)
